Just stopping by to say this happened to me too. Both of mine fell off. Luckily, I noticed when one of them fell off so I could glue it back on. My watch was purchased in 2023 so the warranty has expired. Is there any way to get a replacement metal strip?

Make sure you are registered as a Google Fitbit account and go to help- customer service - they may replace it.
There is a place called Joes in Washington State that sells a replacement back - we peeled off the metal strips off of a new back - and Joes sells a glue. But only if you are technically proficient -

One of mine recently came off as well. How do you contact support? The site just keeps sending me in loops back to this post.

Well to update... the new one last 30 days and then one of the plates fell off of it too. No showers, no swimming. The worst it has had to deal with is being worn outside in 90+ F degree heat for.
Another replacement on the way.

Wondering if anyone has had any luck getting this covered on a Fitbit out of warranty. My wife has one that she's treated almost like fine china yet today the metal strips fell off within hours of each other, both while she was wearing it. We have both strips, but it's clearly a manufacturing problem that we shouldn't have to repair ourselves.

There is a store called Joes Gaming in Washington State- they sell a special glue but you need to be very careful as far as contacts on watch - you should still try to contact Fitbit support as it’s a well known issue .

I was rejected for a fix when this is clearly a manufacturing error, based on the dozens of posts I am seeing

Mine turned into a safety isssue. Battery over heated. I had to answer some question about charging and use. I got a brand ne w replacement and was 5 months past warranty end.
