Multiply Fitbit sense on 1 account

Hi there

I currently have a Fitbit sense and the battery life is no where near the 6 days as I believe it should be, After investigations I have come to believe the bad battery life may be due to number of app on phone? I don’t have the face on and have to hit the button to display so I know that doesn’t use the battery.

Anyway  this issue got me thinking why don’t I get a new FITBIT Sense 2 and use one at night whilst the other is charging.

I am confused and getting mixed messages, I see some articles about multi devices then I also see other articles talking about you can’t have more then 2 devices if they are the same, so I thought ok I get the versa as my second one. However then I read something about can’t have multi devices is the both use the gallery,

Firstly, what’s the gallery?

Secondly, can you or can’t you have 2 devices?

Thirdly, If you can’t will they be future plans to make it possible?

Straightforward there. Forget "gallery".  Just look at device names.  Can only have 2nd device as much older device, not sold any more.  Future plans, nobody knows but I wouldn't hold my breath.  It has been requested a long time.

Make sure don't have snore detect on not than a night or 2.

It doesn't take long to charge enough for a day - don't have to fully charge every time.

Just charging while showering is often enough to keep it nearly steady state.

Apps on phone make no difference; perhaps you meant apps on Sense?

Thanks Johnny

I would dare say the snore detect must be the issue. I really want/need it to monitor sleep apnea.

Yeah definitely meant apps on sense, just habit of saying app on phone.

I will do the charging when having a shower.

They definitely need to make it possible to have 2 of the same devices connect to same account or maybe even create a dual account system where by the data syncs between 2 accounts. I would imagine that they are losing sales because like myself I am sure other people might buy a second device and have it charged ready to swap over.
Again thanks heaps

You will find snore detect does make a big difference.  I suggest using it just for a few nights, either as a curiosity to find out if you snore, or to get a baseline; then turn it off.  Then try it again a couple of nights in a few weeks or a month or so, or anytime you think something might have changed.  Or else maybe you do find it that valuable and just accept the battery loss that goes with it.

I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't find a phone app that would listen for snoring all night.  I know I have a few old cell phones laying around without cell service that still can run apps and wouldn't worry about wearing down battery and letting it recharge each day.

Backing up what @JohnnyRow is saying I can't recommend enough Sleep as Android that you can even link with your Fitbit to have a fully comprehensive solution.

@BowraBrown I agree with @JohnnyRow . That feature probably won't ever come or if so, it will be a big update of the app. If it was easy to do, we'd already have it supported. Probably the app wasn't designed for it. When Ionic came up they hacked something quickly, singleton here and there without giving much thought that somebody may want to use future FitbitOS devices on the same account. The solution has been limited to one such device and changing that would be probably a major rewrite which is risky and costs money. On top of that, they would need probably to introduce something like Garmin's TrueUp feature which decides which data from which watch (or another device like a bike computer) to include. Also, it's probably-low a priority task as the number of people who would use it is significantly lower than those who just need to pair a single device. On Garmin, only one time I needed to use two watches when was setting up maps on F7 so I used F6 for a workout. So that was useful just one time. On the other hand, I have paired a bike computer so both devices can be used simultaneously (and the TrueUp feature works here very well) but Fitbit has no other type of equipment but watches. Different use cases. To be honest, I don't know if I would invest time and money into the feature that only a fraction of users would use and the risk/reward ratio wouldn't look very optimistic (imagine how many new potential issues that would open!). Such features have to be designed and implemented very early (it should be thought of when Ionic was going into the market). Although, who knows, maybe one day Fitbit will surprise us (although I'd rather be not surprised by Fitbit, that doesn't work well recently).
