New unnanounced Sense 2 Firmware Update 207.52 after 194.86

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

If you are already running firmware 194.86 did you get a prompt in the Fitbit App to install the new firmware which doesn't mention what version it is, or your current version.

The current version can be found in watch Settings, About Sense 2, System info.

Until there has been an official announcement of what this update does or removes, it may be preferable to wait, especially if you already have ongoing issues.

To avoid disappointment or extra work, hoping a firmware change resolves ongoing issues may only actually compound the problems, generally it is best to resolve any issues first.

@Guy_ it may mean waiting forever. Charge 6 received such an unannounced update over a month ago and until now it hasn't been announced.

Unfortunately even when it is announced there is very little as to a change list available, just the usual "bug fixes and improvements". So most of the time we are left in the dark as to what the update has added.

I really hate it when app and firmware updates do not give the users an actual changelog. For all we know they introduced bugs and made the firmware worse because they want people to have to abandon FitBit and go buy a Google Pixel watch. Just telling the users there have been "bug fixes" without telling them which bugs were "fixed" should be illegal. Imaging if your car mechanic told you they "fixed the motor" and then refused to tell you anything else. Yeah, you'd be pissed off too. So why do we let software developers get away with this BS?

@Sarge_01 "Fixed the motor" It's still more than Fitbit tells us in the changelog 😂

My watch has stopped working altogether I put it on charge it went hot and won’t work. It’s not even a year old could this be part of the problem?

Hi @SNut - a watch that gets hot when charging is due to a hardware fault, most likely water getting in. Luckily as it is under warranty you can get it replaced.

Hi Guy,

Thank you this is reassuring.  I have been in touch with them.  I nearly bought an Apple watch which would have been more.

As you say it's under warranty so there shouldn't be any issues, I expected to have to send it back but they just wanted photos with the case number shown on all the photos, so they must have had lots of similar issues.  It's crazy how you miss it.

Thanks for replying to my post
