One of the things I wanted to track was how many times a day I go up or down the steps. In the 4 days I have worn the sense 2 It fails to count my trips up or down the stairs 3 out of 4 trips. Yes I understand the manual states I must go up 10 feet. Problem is most stick built houses are 9.5 feet floor to floor. I also can go up or down another set of stairs that are about 13 feet top to bottom. and it does count them about half the time. I live 8 miles from the ocean and about 8 feet above sea level. could this be part of the problem?

Hi @oldmam2 - the altitude will not be an issue as it measures changes in pressure to detect floors.
However how you use stairs could be an issue, for example, if you push a shopping trolley it doesn't measure steps, equally if you hold the bannisters it may not count steps. If it doesn't count sufficient steps it may consider it just a pressure change and ignore it as a floor change.
There can also be an effect if you choose to wear the watch on your dominant hand, this setting has the effect of filtering some steps which it considers mere hand movements.
These are minor matters but can have a slight bearing on counting.
A useful thing to also try is to sync the watch and do a Shutdown from the watch Settings menu. Wait at least 10 seconds [to allow it to complete] before placing it on charge to restart it and charge it. If it's already charged just push the button for a second and wait. This should put the watch in a good state if possibly there was something upsetting it.
Lastly the clock face may have a bearing on how well it behaves and changing it might make a difference.

I find it to be extremely variable. Some days mine will do just like yours and miss 3 out of 4 flights. Other days it will be pretty darn close. We actually have open space behind our house with a hill (around 220 feet) with a trail up. I climb it several times a week. Sometimes it gets 15 flights. Sometimes it gets 22 (correct number), other times 25. Outside, especially if it is windy, you can get pressure variations that exacerbate this. Inside, you'd think it could nail it, but it often doesn't. Interestingly, I find that it does better on the stairs inside if I pump my arms like I was jogging up the stairs rather than leaving my hands down at my sides. Oh, and raise your hand over you head at the top of the stairs for a second or two. All in all, it is very frustrating. This morning I have been up my stairs twice and the count says 1. So 50% so far for today.
