Notifications won't work on my Sense 2

I've tried all the troubleshooting suggestions on this forum, but nothing is working.  I received a Sense 2 for Christmas to replace my Versa. Numerous times I have synced my Sense 2 then connected it to Bluetooth but it will notify me of a text or call one or two times, then it just stops notifying me. I don't know what else to try and it's very frustrating.  I have an iPhone 13 with iOS Version 16.3.1.

Thanks.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Sense 2 before reaching out. I understand how you must be feeling.

In addition to @Guy_'s recommendation, please try the following steps in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Sense 2 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Sense 2.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Sense 2.
  • Set up notifications again.
  • Once your Sense 2 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Sense 2 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Hi @SunsetRunner - this is most likely a phone settings issue.

Check that the Fitbit App and associated services are allowed to run in background and you have Show Previews set to Always.

If battery optimization is shutting down the Fitbit App in background you won't receive notifications.

Thanks. I appreciate your feedback. I have gone through these steps and still not working. I also checked the things that Guy mentioned.

My son works for Verizon and my daughter works for Apple and they both confirm my phone is set up properly. Could it be an issue with the Fitbit? I really wish I had kept my Versa as I received texts and phone call notifications with no issue. This is incredibly frustrating.

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

At times a simple power off of the tracker or phone has helped me with notifications.

However, when I open the fitbit app, I usually get a note to fix this. However sometimes the note doesn't show until I open notifications.

Lately, I'm finding my BT mysteriously turns off.
