Pre-order was not the way to go.

I read the information from Fit Bit about the new Sense 2 so I placed an order for it several weeks before it was even available. Mine showed up several weeks later and I was quite happy with it even though some of the functions that would eventually be available with it. My beef is that I paid full price of $299. Within a few weeks, the price was reduced to $199. Was I offered a refund for paying full price? Nope! Then Black Friday showed up and the price was even reduced more through several retail stores. Do I feel ripped off? You bet I do! I’m sure I wasn’t the only customer with Fit Bit that got ripped off. Shame on you!

I don't see why you blame Fitbit for that. Pre-ordering (of anything) is usually a bad idea but seeing that the product is being released so close to Black Friday, then Christmas and then Boxing Day it is more than obvious the price will drop. Fitbit sells items at a certain price. If you pay it then it means you accept the offer as it is. If the offer changes later then tough luck, you could have waited. If Fitbit released Sense 2 in April or May then paying full price wouldn't probably hurt so much but the September release (so close to ending of the year and the period of discounts) and including the waiting time for to get the device? I wouldn't pre-order even at a gunpoint 😄 We (customers) are not mindless beings when making decisions. The company decides what the price is, and we decide whether we spend our money on this product, keep it or go somewhere else to spend it.

So as far as you’re concerned, I got ripped off due to my own stupidity, not the companies insane marketing? You cheat a customer out of $100 by reducing the price just after pre-orders are shipped and you expect your customers to be happy about that?  They actually expect me to ever buy anything from them ever again after getting taken advantage of this way? It’s one heck of a way to treat your customers! I thought long and hard about buying it and now, every time I look at it, it make me mad at Fit Bit/Google for taking advantage of me. I’m sure I wasn’t the only customer that got ripped off. Shame on them for doing what they did!
