Problem recording hikes on my Sense 2

When I set my Sense 2 to record a hike it keeps disconnecting from the exercise and does not even record the bit it did register. On an 8 mile hike today the only exercise that was synced was about 2 miles of walk it auto recorded after it disconnected from the hike for the fourth time. The steps and distance appears correct.

Does this occur with every activity or with a specific one?

In the meantime, on the Sense do as follows. 

1. Open the Exercise app.
2. Tap the Bike, Elliptical, Rowing, Run, Spinning, or Walk option individually.
3. Swipe up. Auto stop and Auto Start is turned on by default,  tap to turn it off.
   if these are on, the next time your device detects this workout type, the Exercise app automatically opens.

Thank you for your email.
The problem has only occurred when I have been trying to record a hike. It
didn't occur to me that if it was set to auto record walking that it would
override an exercise it was already recording!
I have cancelled all auto record and I will let you know after I try again.

Just to confirm, the most important setting to turn off is the Auto Stop .
