Query around step counts

hi, I've noticed that my Sense 2 counts steps (and lots of them) when I'm actually riding my bike. Today I rode 83km but my Sense logged that as over 15,000 steps. I didn't walk 15,000 steps. How do I prevent this happening as I assume the Sense detected exercise automatically?

@beddell69 you can't. Fitbit watches never stop tracking steps (this kind of works as a background task). You are getting steps because of uneven surface and bumpy ride. This is detected as steps by the watch.

Thanks for the response. That's a bit naff then really. Sense knows I completed a long bike ride because Strava told it so, the FitBit software should be clever enough to know that I can't possibly walk 15k steps (and 92 floors apparently) at same time. Find that quite disappointing as I assume it impacts on my reported calorie usage for the day. Not great for a premium product.

Steps don't have impact on your calories but HR does. Strava doesn't tell Sense about your bike ride. It's Fitbit telling Strava. The daily distance however will be affected by the extra steps. This is how it always worked andI don't think Fitbit will ever change it.
