Re: Sense 2 stopped tracking floors & the new app is horrid

I've tried disconnecting my phone because I suspect that's overwriting everything the Fitbit records rendering it rather pointless.

Any suggestions for a better alternative to Fitbit/Google? Since Google have made a binfire of what was a great product I'll be switching to something else as soon as I find one.

Hi @Dean_Morrison - there are issues with the new app, you can see them and post in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topics in the iOS or Android app forums along with the other unhappy users and how they are coping.

Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with this version.

My Sense 2 has stopped tracking floors and the new app is horrid. Not only is the appearance dull, cluttered and awful, I use it to track runs in detail and now half the info I used to access is missing.

This 'upgrade' is on a par with what Musk is doing to Twitter

Won't be renewing my Premium subscription - don't want to pay you to make the product worse 🙄

I've reinstalled an earlier version (which are freely available online) and did a soft reset of the watch which has fixed the problem.A long hold down of the power button does the soft reset.

Thank you for this great tip! The new software definitely is ugly and awkward, so I look forward to going back to what Fitbit designed, instead of this unappealing and awkward Google version.

Couldn’t agree more concerning the App, Dean!  I mean, hard to believe in this age, Google could do such a bad job with design and graphics… not to mention utility! It’s frustratingly hard to see the info most important to me, and yes—the app design is totally bland, cluttered, and unappealing. It now feels like a low budget App,  quickly thrown together with little thought… and horrendous  design. It’s like a first draft/rough sketch somehow got approved for the job….The Fitbit app was great. Why change a good thing?  This is an enormous downgrade. My Sense 2 takes forever to sync now… and I have to search for steps and sleep activity because my preferences got all screwed and it isn’t clear how ( or if?) I can change the layout. I’m so disappointed.

Google is taking over many good companies (Nest is another) that I was quite happy with before Google’s take over. It appears Google isn’t delivering even vaguely comparable service to what the original companies provided. I suggest Google perfect what they already own before taking on new ventures with new customers— forced to switch over—until Google can provide at minimum comparable, if not improved service  to what existed  prior to their takeover!!
