Red bar on upper side of watch face--Beacon face

I'm using the Beacon face by BV Designs but not sure this is a feature of the face or the watch: at some points I get a short red horizontal bar at the top of the face, under the metric that appears  at the top. It then goes away. Does anyone recognize this? I will contact the developer too.

@Dab-123   Please look at this page from the developer.  Is it the progress bar that is there, then disappears?

Thanks, that is probably it, though I don't have steps enabled to show, it shows the date, which is what was confusing.
