Why does resting heart rate not take into account when you go to bed? Every once in a while I’ll go to bed late and it will absolutely crush my averages. The algorithm already overestimates rhr, but totally spiking it if you have a late night night is so dumb. Whoop actually (intelligently) calculates rhr in conjunction with sleep and when waking up/resting. I’m six+years loyal to Fitbit but lazy stuff like this, never improving, is really irritating.

I would expect that keeping a regular sleep schedule with enough sleep would lead to better sleep, and perhaps a lower RHR. You might look at your overnight heart rate graph (I find easier to see detail on fitbit.com dashboard) on nights you go to bed late to see if heart rate gets as low as other nights.
It sounds like what you are asking for is Fitbit to say 'we notice this guy hasn't been keeping a regular sleep schedule so let's cut him a break on the health analysis numbers, and report a RHR what it would have been if he had gone to bed at is regular time.
