Since having a Fitbit for a good few years my RHR was always tracking at an average of 69. Since July this year it has gradually been increasing until this week it's averaging 80! I would say I've made no big changes in lifestyle or exercise regime. I checked this morning and since midnight my HR never went above 78 (still high considering I was sleeping). What I'm trying to determine is whether Fitbit has changed how it's calculating RHR or if mine is genuinely increasing, and wondering if anyone else has experienced the same!

Hi @Purplepepper - to clarify as you have posted about a Sense 2, did you actually change watch?
In any case it may be time to clean the watch How do I clean my Fitbit device? and after a sync do a Shutdown from the watch Settings menu. Wait at least 10 seconds [to allow it to complete] before placing it on charge to restart it and charge it. If it's already charged just push the button for a second and wait
This will put the watch in a good condition which may improve the readings.
Normally heart rate should decrease with age, so it may actually be telling something that needs checking out, just to be sure. Some medication, alcohol, caffeine or stress may have a natural effect.
If you are using either Snore detection or SpO2 tracker app [it can be uninstalled] try disabling them in case there is some interference.
