Sense 2: Not tracking swim correctly?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just got a new sense 2 for tracking a big weight loss journey for swimming, I went with fitbit because of the better underwater protection and the cost. My whole family(daughter and two children) have apple watches and I seen how awesome they are while swimming, I do however have a Samsung phone so an apple watch wasn't really an option, I had already ruined two (older) galaxy watches because of the lack of protection from the water so I decided to get a Fitbit sense 2 in the end.

My first swim with the watch I made sure I set 25m pool, did 40 laps and then it wouldn't let me check how many laps it recorded until I checked/sync the app on my phone so when I got out and checked/synced ... It recorded 27 😭

Quite frustrating

Just done another swim and the same lengths, it now says I've done 53 instead of 40.

Is this some sort of fault or are these devices really that bad at detecting swims?

Speriamo chiariscano

Hi @Iron47 and welcome @Arnold2764382 to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

I'm sorry to hear your Sense 2 are not properly tracking your swimming activity. Inconsistencies in your swim data may be caused by any of the following:

  • You stopped to rest multiple times or in the middle of the pool
  • You stopped to rest for longer than 60 seconds after completing a pool length
  • You changed your stroke type midway through a length
  • You swam with a kickboard or without using your arms
For more information about this topic, i suggest that you check our help article How do I track swims with my Fitbit device?

Regarding your post @Iron47, i see that you understand English pretty well. However, to keep organization in our community, you can either create a new thread in other languages if you prefer or you can post here in English. I appreciate yourtime in this process.

I hope this information will be helpful for you both!

Hi @Iron47. Thank you for you response. Thanks for the clarification.

If your data is correct on the watch at the end of your swimming session but it changes while it's synced to the app, ensure your app is up to date. To update the app, follow the instructions in our help article How do i use the Fitbit app? below the section "How do i update the Fitbit app?".

In addition, if you want to continue speaking in italian, i would suggest that you open a thread in the italian community. I appreciate your time in this process.

Have a great day.
