I've had this watch since last summer but this issue just started in the past week. I think it might occur mostly after logging a walk, where I end the walk and my total step count has jumped way up. Then it jumps back down like 3-4k steps to what I can only assume is the correct number. And a few times I've "reached my 10k" while literally sitting still, only to have it jump back down again a short while later.
I've rebooted my watch and the app seems to carry the correct step count, but I can't figure out how to stop my watch from doing this.
I'll add that this is a replacement for a previous Sense 2 that I had for 2.5 years that stopped turning on after about 15 minutes standing in a pool, when it's supposed to be water resistant. This new watch is frequently glitchy, refusing to sync every couple of weeks -- so maybe it's a lemon.

Just adding that I posted this and looked at my watch, it was at 10,050 or so steps. I looked at the app, it was more like 8500 steps. I synced the app and my watch and my watched jumped to 11,329 steps!! I am sitting down!

I am having the same issue with my Sense2. Just now it went from 15,100 back down to 10,884. I never know how many steps I really have.

My sense just started doing the same thing.

Mine has been doing this ever since the mandatory battery update. It never did this prior.

I'm having the same issue. Never had problems before with this watch and I thought it was my watch on its way out. Instead it's a Fitbit issue.
This only started in the last week or so

So, updated my android app last night to 4.38 (if I'm remembering the number correctly, but 7 updated to 8), and, no, it's not a fix. I'm back to keeping Bluetooth off and syncing at the beginning and end of each day
