Sense 2 changes to 24h format when using AOD

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I use the Always on format and the display dims, the default time setting goes to 24 hour format. Every clock face I use is 12 hours. But when the display dims and defaults to the simple face it is 24 hour format. Everything I have done indicates I have made all of the settings 12 hours. On the internet website and the app on my phone and the watch but the dimmed time is 24 hours and when the watch wakes, it reverts back to the proper 12 hour format. Can anyone help or is this normal? I would like the dimmed setting to reflect 12 hour format. Thank you.

Just tried it on the original Sense, not Sense 2, and it stayed in 12 hour format.

Don't have the Sense 2 to try that.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Welcome to the Community, @JoeSense2@JohnnyRow Thanks for your help.

@JoeSense2 Thanks for the detailed information. This is odd and to look into this, may I know the name of the clock face you're using? If you haven't done so, try restarting your Sense 2 to refresh its performance and changing the clock face to a different one. If the issue gets resolved, you may change the clock face to the previous one and let me know how it goes.

Same issue here. It seems to only be an issue when the clock face doesn’t have native AOD support / it uses the default Fitbit AOD time display.

For example, Thexa by Terry Yuen. You’ll have to find it on Fitbit Gallery yourself, because these forums won’t let me post a link to Fitbit’s own site…nice.

Hi there, @WinterPhoenix.

Thanks for joining this thread and letting me know about your Sense 2. While it's odd you weren't able to post the link, I appreciate you for sharing the name of the clock face you're using. Because the Thexa clock face is from a 3rd-party developed, please try changing the clock face to one made by Fitbit and restart your watch to refresh its performance. Once that is done, try activating the Always-On Display and let me know if it works correctly.

Hi Lizzy,

This issue doesn't exist for any Fitbit-created watchfaces, as they all support the Always On Display natively. I'm specifically speaking to the so-called "fallback" AOD time display used when a watchface doesn't provide one itself.

In the Fitbit Gallery, it looks like these watchfaces are referrred to as "Not Optimized."

Hi Guy_,

While that does clarify some things, I think the core issue remains unresolved, in that Fitbit's default/fallback AOD watchface doesn't show 12hr time with the 12hr setting selected. Or if that's intentional, I don't understand why it would be.

@WinterPhoenix  - could be intentional, as every pixel lit on the watch face causes extra battery drain. By using 24 hr mode you save the am/pm pixels.

Yup. So lots of try this suggestions but nothing that actually works. Having the same issue unless I download an always on designated clock face. Which of course thus far are none that I like.

Hi @Chattycathy96 - that's because the watch default mode is not used by specific watch faces that provide Always On display.
