Sense 2 did not auto recognize bike ride, but the app did.

I did 2 bike rides today, the first one was auto-recognized by the Sense 2, but the second one did not (it was still in watch mode when I ended the ride).  But later on, when viewing my exercises in the app, I see an activity labeled "Mountain Bike" (or "Outdoor Bike", as in the web dashboard or latest exercise of the Activity tile in the app.)  It had no GPS data, and it indicates it was recorded by "Fitbit for Android".

I am wondering why the Sense 2 did start recording the bike ride, but somehow handled the responsibility to the app.  Plus, why did the app not utilize GPS to track my route and distance, if it was being recorded on the phone, GPS data is easily accessible.

Having been a Fitbitter for several years, I assume you know you can avoid all questions like that by using the on-wrist Exercise App.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

@JohnnyRowI know I can manually start the exercise from the tracker, which I do when doing non auto recognized exercise.  Fitbit has always auto-recognized my bike rides.  It is just this time, the tracker did not auto-recognize, while the app did (for the first time).
