The Fitbit Sense 2 does not have a manual "lock screen" button to completely disable the side button or touchscreen on demand.
I find this a significant issue from a user experience perspective because sometimes when the screen lights up by accident you want to quickly be able to switch it off, which you were able to do with previous models.
I loved this feature of my Versa 2 and didnt realise the latest fitbits not longer support this feature before i purchased it. I dont want to have to lock it with a pin code or use the water lock feature outside of swimming etc.
Users should be able to select their preference if they want to be able to lock the screen with the side button or chose a different action. Im contemplating returning the watch and getting a refund thats how much of an impact I find it.

Hi there, @AP0915. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding the Sense 2 and its haptic button. Every feedback shared in the Community Forums is appreciated and passed along to enhance your Fitbit experience, and yours won't be the exception.
Please note that the Fitbit Sense 2 does have a side button, but it is a solid-state haptic (touch-sensitive) button located on the left side of the watch casing, rather than a traditional physical button that clicks inward. However, if you want to stick with the Fitbit ecosystem, the Versa 4 uses the exact same software platform as the Sense 2, but features a physical button instead of a haptic one. While it lacks an "on-demand" lock, the physical button is much harder to trigger accidentally.
