Sense 2 not connecting for calls

I had bought sometime in December 2022 and for a month or two or worked great with calls. Then it stopped. 

Have been trying to sort with solutions posted online but none works. By default the bluetooth connection is off most of the time. Then I click on fix error and after 1-2 taps it gets connected. Everything says fine/done. But still no calls nothing on the device

After sometime I check and again it is disconnected. Same routine. I love the steps counter works fine and I get mail notifications etc and even use google map from phone to device. But the calls just don't happen. The device itself says it's on sleep mode. I don't recall ever enabling it and many of the toggles are not active so can't change on device either. Tried attaching some pics but not allowing me here!

I tried that feature once or twice.  The incoming call's sound is bad and the other end could barely hear what I was saying.  If its not going to connect all the time, I wouldn't rely on it.  It seems to be more of a gimmick.  If I have my earbuds on during exercise, the call will come through no matter what and I take the call if I have to.
