This year it seems it's slowly not working, I no longer get body responses, no zone minutes, a couple of times randomly no sleep data. The stair counting has never really worked right. Do I have to bite the bullet and factory reset?

I'd like to know if you use Mobile track. "Mobile Track" is a service that allows you to count steps using your phone even if you forget to wear your Fitbit.
Please if you don't use it, try to uninstall it. On your Fitbit app on the Today tap go to the upper left corner, click and scroll down and on your phone icon click on the 3 dots and choose "unpair".
