Sense 2 not turning on

Verse 2 stopped working. It wasn't holding a charge and then completely died. I cleaned it following the instructions. Tried a factory reboot. Tried starting it while on a charger. Have tried multiple charging points. It will show the Fitbit logo and then shut off. Or Show the logo, flash a few times and then show a red x and shut off.

  • It looks like there is an update put there. But because I cannot get the Sense 2 to start I cannot update it.
  • I have had the fitbit for 3 years.

Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Welcome to the community forums @RMCote

Thank you for providing the information regarding this difficulty with Sense 2 and for trying to fix it on your own.

Since you mentioned that it looks like there is an update pending, but the device is unable to get charged, please make sure to follow the steps listed in this help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

I tried all these processes and left it on the charger for 8 plus hours. It still will not turn on.

Try this. I have a Sense 2, but this solution may work.

Press and Hold the button until the fitbit logo appears (8-10 secs). IMMEDIATELY (I think within the first one or two logo flashes) release and press/hold again. You will know you have successfully initiated a TRUE factory reset when you see the fitbit logo with a CIRCLE around it.

If it goes to the Red X, you have NOT done this correctly. Try again. Any suggestion that mentions Pressing and Holding until you see a Red X is not a true factory reset I did nothing for me (as you are probably experiencing).
