Sense 2 only turns on when plugged to charger

My sense 2 will not stay on unless I have it connected to the charger. It will shut off as soon as it is removed and when it is reconnected to the charger it starts up.  Every time it starts up on the charger it shows a different % of charge. Tried to reset when connected and that does not change anything.

Thanks for the detailed information, and the steps that you've tried. It seems the issue is with the battery of your Sense 2 and so we can work on this together, I'd recommend the following steps:

1. Clean the contacts on your watch and charging cable.
2. Use the charging cable that came in the box, and check if the pins are making proper contact with your watch.
3. Restart your watch one more time.
4. Leave your device plugged into the charging cable for at least 30 minutes.
5. Unplug it and try using it as you normally do.

Thank you for the advice but the watch still shuts off as soon as the charger is removed. I even tried a second fit bit charger that I have.
