My watch screen randomly turns on and off four times before showing the FitBit logo and returning to normal operation. First three times I've noticed the heartbeat indicator show's "--" and at the fourth time it shows the heartbeat value. The watch doesn't shutdown just keeps doing this several times per hour. Nothing work's, factory reset, changing watchface, unpairing, whatever...
When I go for a walk and this happens it stops recording my session and after a few minutes of walking it saves a new one... Very annoyed with this.

Solved:
To expand battery life and because I don't want to I never use my watches to make calls.
But once I've turned on this feature on my Sense 2 it is now working properly .No more sync problems or blinking screen.

Hi @SunsetRunner - if you did a factory reset and kept the original clock face and it still behaves incorrectly then the watch is faulty and needs replacing under warranty.

Yes it sounds like faulty hardware to me. It's better to speak with customer support in this case.

Welcome to the forums, @SunsetRunner. @Guy_ and @N8teGee Thanks for stopping by to share your insights.
@SunsetRunner Thanks for the details provided, and the steps you tried prior to posting. This is odd, as the on-wrist calls should affect your watch's functions aside from the battery life. Nevertheless, I'm glad you sorted this out and I'm going to mark your post as the Best Answer so others can give your useful tip a try. I hope you can keep crushing your goals.
Have a good one!
