Sense 2 stops counting steps

Randomly throughout the day, at least once, if not twice, the fitbit will stop counting my steps. It doesn't seem to have a pattern to it. It isn't as sensitive to my steps as the Sense was to begin with but I've noticed that it tracks my heart rate is in the exercise zone for that metric but the step count hasn't changed. Watch still works, time changes and I'm getting notifications.

But it's not just when I'm exercising.  I ran errands including grocery shopping and a Target run and when I noticed my steps it hadn't registered anything for any of it.

I've tried running in place, swing my arms in an exaggerated manner, turning an exercise on then off, nothing registers. The only way to fix it is to restart the watch.

This is really messing with me since I'm in a workplace challenge until the end of the year and it looks like I'm only getting 2k steps a day and it should be way higher. But since it's random I have to check if it froze again or was my arm movement to subtle each time.

What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this?

I noticed this today that is why I am here to complain as well,  The tracker does not track step climbs accurately I exercised with steps for over 30 minutes and it tracked only 4 floors, It stops tracking exercises when it shouldn't, so my exercise duration is also wrong. you would expect a fitness device to have a feature that enables you to rearrange your exercise tiles but nope it doesn't. This is my first Fitbit and it has been a truly disappointing experience, I trashed the box if not I would have returned it.

You are not doing anything wrong, the hardware/software is crap

Same issues here.  Hard reset does seem to temporarily fix the issue most of the time or putting it on charge for a minute but on the flip side you may lose alot of steps when it resets.

The other day it froze during one of my 1500 steps an hour sessions, and when i reset it i lost 1000 steps.

Also during exercise it randomly asks if i want to stop even tho auto pause/auto stop is not turned on
In my case the Sense 2 i have was fine until the lastest "firmware update" notice i put that in quotes cause all it's done is break it.

My Sense 2 stopped counting steps, sleep, etc. this past Tuesday. Tried resetting and still not counting.

Sometimes it takes multiple resets. But it's moot, it will stop again.

Mine 2 stops at best every 3 days and never a warning unless you monitor it.

Usually I reset atleast once a day when I'm not moving to make sure. Charging sometimes helps too
