Sense 2 workout randomly fails to measure heart rate

My fitbit sense 2 randomly fails to measure my HR even close to accurately during workouts. I can't attach a screenshot, but if I could, I'd show how a 15 minute HIIT I do typically gets my HR to peak in the 150s, but when it fails, it shows a peak of 100. It's not half counting, it's just not doing it right at all.

Apparently my average rate during my workout was 88 and my peak was 100. (RHR is high low 50s on Fitbit.) Weird how it was dropping past 120 while I checked manually with my Fitbit during cool down.

Anyone else experience this?

I thought it was just with HIIT type exercise but now mine is not registering during a run.  Also, I have noticed that different parts of the app show different results related to cardio zone.  This is incredibly frustrating.  During a 25 minute run, I have only 8 minutes cardio or peak when I look at the time in heart rate zones detail and 14 minutes below zones.  I want my Versa back.

Sense and Versa 3/4 HR sensor is just a random number generator, nothing to add. If you're serious about trakcing your HR while working out consider to switch brand. Sorry to say.

I will be switching brand, but your "random number generator" is simply not true. When it works it tracks along side my medical rate HR monitor just fine. It's when it doesn't that it's a problem.

A restart usually solves it for me, but it should not be like that in the first place.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

And it's happened again. Weight HIIT session. Heart rate clearly pushing towards peak. HR came back as peaking at 97, which is once again not half counting. My HR peaks at 160ish when I push my hardest.

I'm going to be in touch to arrange a refund. This watch is not fit for purpose.

Ahead of contacting my retailer, over just factory reset my device and going to see if this makes any difference (good or bad). I'll report any changes here. Might as well do something good before I return it.

Lately I've been thinking that my Sense 2 also seems wrong when measuring my heart rate during a martial arts training.  I know that when I feel really pooped after a lot of acrobatics that my heart rate has to be more than 120, but for some reason, that's the most that my fitbit is telling me.  On the other hand, I also do a 5K run, and during that time, at least on a treadmill, it seems  not to be failing to report the right heart rate, at peak, which is just shy of 180.

When my older fitbit, a charge five, was still working, I remember reading the advice in the manual, saying that I should tighten the band and wear it down closer to the wrist for a more accurate reading.  Next time I'll try switching wrists to see if that makes any difference.

I would like to add, on a brighter note, I haven't had any other problems at all with the new fitbit.  All of the features that I want seem to be working just fine, and for several months now.  For the Charge I had invested in one of the sport Bands Before it died unexpectedly.  Sport bands are really quite nice for making better adjustments In the tightness. If I can't get my stock band to cooperate for a proper reading, I think I will invest in a sport band before I start looking for a serious alternative.
