This goes back to the failure to improve the heart rate monitor on the Sense 2. I just got off my bosu ball, which acts very well like a treadmill/stair climber and there is definitely an increase in my heart rate, as I hit 4.7k steps and 43 floors, but no zone minutes.
There were some firmware updates on the Sense that saw some improvements in that monitor, but it wasn't great. I was hoping for an improvement when I upgraded the device, but that wasn't to be. The return to the August 2020 numbers seems like a dream that's out of reach.
Is there any more hope anyone can provide?

Climbing floors, in itself, does not directly affect stats. Presumably it will make you work harder, thus raising your heart rate, and accordingly increasing your calorie burn, and zone minutes if your heart rate gets high enough. But your heart rate still has to reach the fat-burn zone to earn zone minutes.

Very true. I was just frustrated with the lack of results that I used to get. The firmware "upgrade" on the Ionic to x.71.6.19 was where I found that the results really tailed off. Either before that upgrade was wrong for giving too many zone minutes on the Blaze, Surge and Ionic or the upgrades since are wrong. I've got an Excel workbook with all my numbers and the change is very obvious.

@JohnnyRow there is an exception that grants you zone minutes regardless HR. It's swimming. Despite HR monitor is disabled for swimming the AZM are being granted.

@t.parkerThanks, didn't realize that. I haven't done water use, but I guess make sense if HR disabled.
