Hey gang.
Unfortunately, it seems my Sense 2 has stopped calculating my sleep correctly. I've had it for 2 and a 1/2 years, so not a noob - but the sleep stages and sleep score are not recalculating when I try to edit sleep. One of the cool parts of the Fitbit is that you can go back in and edit sleep. I have historically used this edit sleep and delete sleep features and it worked pretty flawlessly most nights on recalibrating and recalculating. Now when I try to edit sleep, it just goes back to exactly the same bar of sleep stages, the same sleep score and nothing recalculates?
This only started in the last week to 2 weeks, if that helps locate the change, or update potentially on your side. Something you can roll back.maybe? If not, I have no idea what the issue would be, and appreciating your support. Thank You!

@Dr-M I have the same issue. Do you use an Android or iPhone? I sent feedback using the Fitbit app, hoping this will help bring it to their attention.

Ok! Not just me, then! Thank you for jumping in and reminding me of a pretty important piece of info I left out --> I have an Android Phone! 😁

I'm also having this issue and it just started within the past few weeks.

Add us to the list. We have two Sense 2 watches and use the latest FitBit app (Ver 4.53.1) on our Android phones. Sure seems like this issue just started within the past few weeks. Fingers crossed this will get corrected.

You-all are more experienced than I am, and when I think I have something figured out, maybe it's good for about 3 days and then FitBit is inconsistent again. But here goes: there are 2 places to "edit " your sleep. On the Sleep page there is a button that says Log Sleep. It looks like you can change what the watch recorded. But NOPE it won't edit. Says that the night's sleep is already recorded.
But up above, at the 3 dots, touch that, and there is an edit Sleep place. It worked for me about 5 times within the last few days. I went back and fixed some nights from a few weeks ago plus recent nights.

Hi - @LOIj -- Yes, we edit sleep in the location you gave. The sleep total changes BUT the graph does not change. This is especially noticeable if the app says you woke early but you know you didn't. Example: Got up at 2:30am for potty break. App uses this as time I woke up, but I actually went back to sleep and woke up at 6AM. Before these recent issues, I could edit sleep times and the app would recalculate and update BOTH sleep totals and graph <SIGH> not now. FWIW -- even tried the old stand-by steps, open apps, force stop FitBit, clear cache (not data), restart app. Sync again and...no change. Don't know if others are having this issue or not. App just seems more unstable and erratic in day-to-day operation. My 2 cents worth...

100$ @ExAlaskan !
The issue we are all having is exactly as you described, is only in the last few weeks, and both the graph and the subsequent Sleep Score does not update after any edits. This is definitely a product loyalty issue for the Fitbut Crew to address here. I also hope we get an acknowledgement and a quick patch to fix here! TY for sharing your experience, and you too @birdy42 !!

It is far from perfect! I haven't had a change in the last two weeks time period.
Two things have helped somewhat in getting my sleep stats to be more accurate. One is to make sure that I deliberately run the syncing right before I tuck into bed. Since I often have the watch off as I get ready for bed, it won't happen automatically.
The other thing is that I set the sleep goals for a little earlier than I usually get in bed, and a little later than I usually get up. The watch usually records a realistic amount of sleep. Find that setting on the Sleep page, then the three dots, then sleep goals. It worked fine 2x when I slept really late.
I also get up at night. Too much. My theory is that the Sense2 inventors didn't allow for our bodily functions. Almost always a few of the Health Metrics are blank every night. More are filled in if sleep for longer amounts of time at night
I wonder if that other sleep thing that can be filled in is for taking a nap.

Not related to what the rest of us are experiencing @LOIj . Thanks though.
Moving on to the actual issue again - I noticed once more last eve. Hear me out Fitbit dev team!
The Sense 2 caught 2 intervals of sleep. A perfect example of where we would all normally be able to Delete one through Delete Sleep. Then, go to Edit Sleep and combine the existing window and sleep graph/sleep score - and have them recalibrate and recalculate for the whole night. This ALWAYS worked for the last 3 years. In the last 2-3 weeks for 4 out of 5 of us here, this changed. The graph slides to the right and the Sleep Score doesn't change.
Moving forward, we need responses from the Fitbit dev team. I can't explain this any clearer. But, if you need, please reach out for my email or a conversation on phone. Where yall at...????!?!?

Mistakenly marked as answered in my own comment just now. Apologies - it obviously isn't. Please let us know what will be done here, Product Team! 🫶

I flagged this thread to get moderator attention.
@Dr-M I unchecked your inadvertent Best Answer selection. Anyone can fix this on their own post. Tap on the tiny down arrow in the upper right of the post and it is an option in the dropdown. You can also edit a post. Like I wrote, a user can uncheck their own post, but Product Experts have more options.

I am having the same issues on my new iphone 17. Fitbit sporadically doesn't register any sleep detail. I used to be able to enter manually via “edit” but now it does not bring in the detail behind the time edit.
There must be a solution out there. Is anyone with technical knowledge listening?

You've got it - I have noticed exactly the same issue. It's a waste of time trying to edit sleep now. What happened, Fitbit ??

I’m having same issue with my Charge 4. Ugh! So frustrating! 😡 I’ve been using Fitbit for a decade or more! This was the best thing about it and now it doesn’t work. Does anyone even care? I’m looking into alternatives.
---
It’s not just sense 2. My Charge 4 is the same. I use an iPhone. I’ve tried EVERYTHING and nothing works! Even if I try deleting the inaccurate data and try manually adding sleep time - then I get no “premium” data at all… it acts like it was less than 3 hrs and doesn’t give any stats.
---
Google took over, that’s what happened. Seems no one in the company cares. We all need to look elsewhere. I am. I am sick of this nonsense. No way to contact tech support.

Exactly! And what am I paying for??? No family subscriptions. Ridiculous fees on an individual basis and no service or solutions!
---
We are charter members and despite the Google buyout, sorry changes to the app, and poor service we upgraded to Sense 2…….this is so criminal that the most important advantages of FitBit are not supported technically.

I guess my Sense2 is now copying what so many have written about here. Last night I supposedly slept from 12 to 2 and from 6 to 7. Both of those were flat line of black Light Sleep. Usually that is a blue line.
I'm wondering what else is going on. In the a.m. my Sense2 gave me a message that it was down to only 35% charge, which doesn't sound desperate to me.
During the time I supposedly wasn't sleeping, I got up 2x. Once was for a bad muscle cramp in my leg, so I suppose that could be something that Sense2 isn't programed for. Well, yes, I'm being silly, and I think I was sleeping again within 10 min. But apparently I flat lined.....
I will see what tonight brings.

@LZeeW Thank you so much!!
Mods - please refer to any of my paragraph-long responses for help with this issue, and in order to prevent loss of product loyalty here - I would encourage one of you to pass this on to the Product team and have some followup. This will definitely lead to attrition away from your brand, so please let us know at least if that step (informing the Product devs) has taken place - or if you would recommmend a different strategy to get in contact with them. Thank you!!!!!

Yes, I have found that you cannot make a manual change. It might change the time. Period but the stages will not be recorded and updated. If you have a long awake period in the middle of the night, it only starts calculating the sleep from when you go back to sleep and ignore the time you were asleep prior if you tried to add it back in it loses all the stages completely. This is over the past week which is say October 15 through the 23rd 2025 something is very wrong.
