Sleep tracking doesn't work for me. Wonder if it really works for anyone?

My sleep tracking rarely gets it right. Most of the time it records my sleep start 2-3 hours after I went to bed. If I get up to use the bathroom it often ends the sleep and starts another (again 2-3 hours later). I've read up on how it figures out when sleep starts and the best I can get is you don't move for about an hour. Not super sophisticated.

I think I'm an average sleeper. No sleep apnea or excessive movement (according to my wife). But who knows?

It is a bummer and invalidates anything that depends on my sleep score (ie readiness score).

I really do want to know more about my sleep but I'll have to do something beyond the Fitbit.

There was another post on this forum that mentioned one reason it wasnt logging was because they had sleep apnea. I'm not saying it's the case for you, but i recall seeing it took the application 3 hours to log sleep. This is why shorter naps arent logged. A suggestion would be to have someone else use the device and see if it logs for them. Either it doesnt and it's likely the device or application or it does and it's likely something about you. Obviously make sure the device is positioned properly with the correct tension etc.
