Background first is that my Fitbit app is not attached to my iPhone. It’s disconnected. The only connected to the app is the one on my wrist. Sense 2.
I look at my wrist. I see 7292 steps. I looked at the app and I see 7400. And then the higher step count seems to sync to the thing on my wrist.
Err??? Was just a display bug on the device
Moderator edit: clarified subject.

I have an opposite problem, the Sense 2 shows higher step count than the app... I miss hundreds of steps every day because of that...

Good to see you participating in the community for the first time @jochu.
Welcome back to the community @Jana.Velvet.
Please can you please check if you have "MobileTrack" activated?
MobileTrack is a Fitbit feature that uses your phone's sensors to count steps when you don't have your Fitbit with you.
It's possible that the steps recorded on your phone overwrite those on your Sense 2.
Here's how to turn this feature off:
I also recommend updating the Fitbit app if you're still using the old version.

I’ve also seen the OP issue on my own device. It’s like a sync and sync back
like the OP my iPhone is NOT a connected device (it was duping steps until I undid that)
4.50 at p and I have never seen the mobile track option.
