My sense 2 GPS is very inaccurate. Did an Ironman 70.3 last week over a measured course and watch was out by nearly 2k. That's not very good

@GPStracking which distance? Which discipline? How did you track it? Ironman 70.3 is a triathlon and Fitbit has no support for triathlons (neither for OWS which is a part of triathlon).

Good to see you participating in the community for the first time @GPStracking.
Thanks for the details regarding the inconvenience with GPS.
Environmental factors including tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, and thick cloud cover can interfere with your watch's ability to connect to GPS satellites. If your watch is searching for a GPS signal during an exercise, you’ll see the GPS icon rotating at the top of the screen. For best results, wait for Sense 2 to find the signal before you start your workout. If Sense 2 loses the GPS signal during your workout, the GPS icon appears red.
Your watch will attempt to reconnect. For more information, see the related help article. If the GPS is getting disconnected during your running activity, the Sense 2 may track different information for the the distance.
If you continue to see the same behavior and your GPS is not getting disconnected, make sure to try following the steps listed in this article to complete a restart and check if you still see the same behavior afterwards: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Missing the point slightly, I selected run on my Fitbit, had GPS connected, in a pretty open area and the watch was 2k OVER in a 21.1k run. Telling me it doesn't support triathlon is a somewhat moot point there. Either the watch supports running or it doesn't. It's not the first time it's happened.

@GPStracking you didn't say what you tracked before. There are 3 discplines in 70.3 and all are tracked differently. Now, you specified you were talking about running (how would I know that before?). Running isn't tracked just by the GPS but by inertial sensors (all watches do that, Fitbit is no different in that matter) but I agree the quality of distance tracking by Fitbit is rather inferior to other dedicated devices (my last 25km run got cut short to 20km by Fitbit). Fitbits are not sports watches and definitely not runner's watches. They support only very basics (and not always getting it right). Sorry, but if you are into more than just step counting then probably you should look for an actual sports watch (and I speak from my experience, too). I will run a marathon in a few days and don't count on my Fitbit but rather take it only as a companion to the proper watch. I don't have trust in it.

Sense 2 simply does not have a working GPS. Period. I tried 4 different units (return / replacement via Amazon) - they all spend most of the time displaying the red GPS icon, trying to reconnect. Forget it.
The "solution" would be Dynamic GPS (using the phone when available), which is part f the doomed update that never seems to materialize.

This is the problem I'm having, new 1 week, won't connect to GPS with multiple attempts.

I've had a heck of a time getting my Sense 2 to accurately measure distance. My running partners recorded exactly 18 miles on their watches, and my watch recorded 19.2 miles. This is happening consistently. It's frustrating and I would love someone to give a proper fix for this.

The Hybrid GPS on my Sense 2 connects intermittently to my iPhone 13 Pro with very inaccurate positioning. Turning off Bluetooth much improves this but still much less accurate than my old Versa 3. I've done two walks today wearing both watches, the first with BT on, the second with it off. The track from the Sense 2 can be up to 100 metres off from the actual even when using its internal GPS. In Hybrid mode it would lose connection for many minutes then jump to a position up to 500 metres from the actual location. The Versa 3 track actually follows the roads. Tracking on my phone in another app also follows the roads precisely.
Does anyone have a Sense 2 with GPS tracking which is accurate enough to be at all useful?
