I want to be able to use assistants anytime anywhere, and don’t want my device to be limited with what to do,

Hi @SunsetRunner - The Sense 2 and Versa 4 don't have Google Assistant but do have Alexa. It works using your phone's Bluetooth and wifi. No Fitbit watches are designed to use wifi for voice assistants.

Most assistants these days use Wi-Fi, why not allow Wi-Fi connecting settings to be added to these devices mentioned?

@SunsetRunner - do you have an example where voice assistant on the watch uses WiFi?
One reason Fitbit doesn't do this on any watch is battery life. WiFi uses a lot more battery than Bluetooth.

Yes, for example, the Apple Watch.

Or how about WIFI is disabled, but when updating the firmware, something triggers the watch to turn WIFI on to download the update, then switches it off afterwards.

If we get Wi-Fi, that could certainly be possible, except for the turning off part.

That is also false in a way, some Fitbits use Wi-Fi.

@SunsetRunner - WiFi was removed from the Sense 2 as part of the design and is not needed for firmware updates or voice assistant which can be used any time via Bluetooth and the phone.
This enables voice assistant anywhere anytime you have your phone nearby. The phone does need to use WiFi or mobile data for an internet connection which is required for voice assistant.
This approach provides a much longer battery life than an Apple watch.
