Why I want a new model of Sense Smartwatch - PLEASE, Google.

There really aren't competitors to Fitbit for these reasons:

1. Lasts for days and days... Fitbit battery life is simply the best experience. I regularly go 5-6 days during highly active phases and over 7 days for barely opening bluetooth and minimal GPS, say 4-7 GPS walks per week.

2. Data Continuity.  The app is simple and has 11 years of my own data. I will stay in the community if Google/Fitbit allow me to.

3. Wear it, Don't Charge it. How can any wearable be truly fully integrated into your full life unless you keep the charging requirement to a small percentage of the up-time. This is just a revisit of the Battery Life issue, but it's worth noting that wearablwes are MEANT TO BE WORN. not sitting on a charger, at night when you can monitor sleep metrics, or during the day. No other maker has both large install base and best-in-class battery life. NONE. Garmin, please. That thing is huge. Samsung? You too. The Charge and the Sense are Best in Class...

4. Independent Voter. Disclaimer. I own about 12 Apple devices. But I am staying with Fitbit as long as it remains OS agnostic. I know that Google owns Fitbit, but I want Spotify, 'freedom'-of-OS-choice, data-independence and to choose something "other" than the big boys. Google PLEASE keep Fitbit so that you don't force us to choose one of the two (4?) mega-parties. If Fitbit goes, I might have to look at Withings or Garmin or anyone but Google and Apple who both don't care about the Battery life issue.

5. Feeling ignored. I try not to be too sensitive when it comes to technology. I am upset Apple discontinued it's touchbar on its MacBooks and disapointed in Fitbit for making it harder to look at my historical data. And especially for terminating its browser based dashboard (BOOOOOoooo!). I realize things must evolve. But when you get rid of useful functionality and user-engagement, it hurts. And buying Fitbit starts to feel like I was just acquired. Please don't continue this trend. Pay attention to your Fitbit community. We will stay with you. Betrayed folks have little reason to be loyal in return...

6. Kudos Google/Fitbit. If this post gets through, then kudos to Fitbit and Google. If not, well, I tried, and well, just show me the door. I do want you to stay open. Learning from your users is the way to grow and compete.

Go Fitbit!

“best-in-class battery life. NONE. Garmin, please. That thing is huge. Samsung? You too. The Charge and the Sense are Best in Class”

The Sense series does have a superb battery drain duration for its size with functionalities.  That said, I am not totally averse to going to a larger form-factor with a gain of even better functionality (such as builtin: multiband GPS receiver, and flashlight; the former of which all Garmins have and latter like some higher-end models).

“especially for terminating its browser based dashboard (BOOOOOoooo!)” That is an understatement. “ I realize things must evolve.”  sorry to break it to you, but outright removing functionalities does not constitute "evolving"; if anything quite the opposite devolving.

I di agree with your other points. Although numero2 presumably can apply to other companies of biometric trackers (e.g. Apple, Samsung, Garmin) with presumably a better dashboard (that is, one that *exists*!, not doengraded to repiance on thirdparty nonprofiting freelancers).
