seeing my heart rate whilst on a rowing machine

Hi Everyone,

I recently was given the fitbit sense 2. One of the things I really wanted was to use it  to monitor my heart rate and stream the bpm to a rowing machine so I could keep in my 70 to 80% zone whilst exercising.

Is there a way to connect the watch to the equipment (this is what the machine suggests) or keep the display on constantly displaying my BPM to achieve this?

Generally really love the watch but it seems to have lost functionality between generations, or am I wrong?

You can view your heartrate in real time to the app on your phone.  Just bungee your phone to the rowing machine where the display would be visible and set screen timeout to never.

Hello @sifur and welcome to the Community.  Unfortunately, the Sense 2 can't connect your heart rate to gym equipment.  This feature is on the Charge 6, a newer model, but not on the Sense 2.

The Exercise app on the Sense 2 has a Rowing Machine shortcut.  Many rowing machine users are unhappy with this shortcut, because it doesn't give them the exercise details they want  But if you are using the Exercise app on the Sense 2, you can customize the screen so you can always see your heart rate as the middle stat.  I will jump to the punchline and say that you can set your heart rate to be the middle stat and turn on the Always on display in the exercise shortcut settings.  Here is a link to Fitbit's User manuals.  You can download the Sense 2 manual and keep it for reference.  It has instructions for customizing settings in an exercise shortcut.
