A fix for the sense band falling off?

I have had my fitbit sense for almost a year and a half and it was a gift. I had no issues until recently.

All of my bands are starting to fall out, or not attach at all. Makes no difference if it is a Fitbit brand or cheap Amazon one. 

I have already reached out to customer support and my device is no longer in warinty. Because of this I was offered no help, just a coupon code for a very small discount towards a new device.  

Has anyone come up with a way to keep a band attached to their sense?

Big a new band or use something like a strip of painters tape.

 

see below thread for pic.  Personally I would buy another band.  Edges are probably worn.
