After the latest Fitbit firmware update the battery is stuck at 100% It has not changed since the update. Tried a factory reset and went through the whole 2 1/2 hour firmware update and the same thing, battery stays at 100%. The only change was when I simply shut down the watch and restarted it the battery dropped to 99% and has stayed there as of now for 2 days.
Contacted Google who sent me to the Fitbit dept, they forwarded my info to some group there, they were supposed to email me, So far crickets at this point.

The battery has to recalibrate, once it does the level will work. This update changed your full capacity level so you can't really full charge the battery. It implements a software limit as some batteries can heat up during the charge to full. YMMV

The same for me.
What to do, to leave it without recharging until it will switch off?

UPDATE: After 3 days at 100% my watch finally started to show battery drain. It appears to drain much slower which I'm fine with, maybe I'll get more than a week out of a charge now.

That is most likely because when your battery was fully charged it was still under the old firmware before you updated. After you run the battery down and recharge it under the new firmware battery life will be much shorter. I now have to charge my Sense every other day.

Much shorter ...... not going to be to happy about that.

What I don't understand is why Goggle did not explain this part of the update process. They finally sent me an email asking me a bunch of questions and nothing about this process. As I said above it took a few days where the battery stayed at 100% before the battery actually started to fall off. Two days later and it is at 65%.

magic of the magic. After 4 days I decided to connect to charge. It didn't say anything, didn't show charging. After a few minutes I disconnected and bam, 21%. That's weird.

Hi there!
It's great to see you all here in the Fitbit Community!
@motoscribble, @mitietoni and @0hwell Thank you for reporting this situation, for your efforts and for keeping us updated. @Jdsenter Thanks for your help.
Fitbit determined that a limited number of Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Versa 3 devices (“Impacted Devices”) are at risk of their batteries overheating, which poses a potential risk for users and requires an immediate firmware update. The firmware update will reduce the risk of the battery overheating and reduce battery capacity. The update will begin to roll out to impacted Sense and Versa 3 devices over the next month, starting on January 21, 2025. This issue does not affect all Sense and Versa 3 devices; if your device is not impacted, the battery will perform the same as before. You can submit a request to find out if your device is impacted here.

I am really reading about a 50$ refund for a defective product that cost 200$ ?
I hope this is a joke, especially if you are talking about a limited amount of devices, but in any case, you should just replace at no cost with a new working one.
Please tell me I understood wrong because this is seriously affecting the trust a company can have on the market.

New update. After dropped to 21% and recharged to 100%, I am with 99% battery after one full day of use.
