Any news about ECG app availability in Canada

My husband really wants the Fitbit sense or other smart watch with ECG capability in Canada for his birthday and Christmas combined. Is Canada going to get the ecg app or is buying him a sense a waste and should I just get him an Apple Watch?

This was mentioned back in October. . .  We're in 2021 and February.

Exactly. There are no new developments. Might as well look for an actual
ECG device.

@A1987 are you in Canada and have a Sense? Or do you have a link.

Doing a search of their docs I only find that the SpO2 was approved.

Now I'm confused.  We heard before that Canada had approved the ECG, but FitBit had not yet implemented it here.  Has this changed?  Are you in Canada and did you have the ECG function automatically download and work?

I am in Canada and when I launched the app on my phone it installed itself on my Sense

I just looked, and it is installed on my watch as well.  I have done my first ECG and am pleased to report that I have a normal rhythm.  Thank you for making me aware of the app, and thank you Fitbit for rolling it out.

So frustrating. On my phone, in the Fitbit app, I now have the "Heart Rate Assessment" option in the "Assessments & Reports" area from the "Discover" tab. When I go to the Heart Rate Assessment section on the phone app, and click "VIEW RESULTS" I of course get a screen that says "You haven't taken a Heart Rhythm Assessment yet. Get started from your Fitbit device".

I go to my Fitbit Sense and I found the ECG app (yay). However, the Sense(less) screen message after opening the app is:
"Set up on phone"
"Open your Fitbit app and go to the Discover tab. Find Assessments & Reports."
"GOT IT"

Now I'm in an endless loop...phone to Sense to phone to Sense...sigh. No ECG.

I rebooted my Sense...nadda.

I had to close the app, reboot the phone and shutdown the Sense. When everything turned back on it worked fine. My wife’s was less painful.

The ECG app appeared on my Sense. I didn’t change my location or anything. See if it’s on any of your watches?

Looks like it got approved. The app is on my watch. Although, I don’t see any official info from Fitbit. Hopefully it’s not a glitch.

I finally found it but had issues with the Sense app saying to set-up ECG on my phone and my phone app telling me to take a ECG reading. 45 minutes with Fitbit Tech Support and it was not resolved. After about 4 emails with tech support still no resolution. What I found that worked was:

* Using your phone app, uninstall the ECG app from your Fitbit product (Sense in my case).
* Shut down your Fitbit product.
* Reboot your phone.
* Power up FBP (Sense)
* Re-install ECG from phone app.
* Now everything worked.

If you just remove the ECG app it won't resolve the issue.
