Is it possible that the heart rate is calculated/shown differently during an Exercise than in the Today or normal clock mode?
If there are 2 algorithms for deriving heart rate it could explain some of the discrepancies.

@Guy_ Yes, the heart rate in the Today or normal clock mode is averaged over 5 minutes. In the Exercise app, the Zone Minute Graph, and the sleeping heart rate, it is averaged over one minute.

This is great info.
How about the ECG app, is the HR averaged or taken in real time?
Found the ECG reading on the app is different from the normal clock mode.

The ECG reading is taken from the heart's electrical impulses and is taken in real time. It is accurate. The HR on the other trackers - Versa, Versa2, Versa3, Charge etc are taken from measurements of blood flow under the skin and are less accurate. Sometimes a lot less accurate.
