Are there any good alternatives to the Sense that actually provide accurate heart rate readings?

So I've seen that the heart rate issues have been beaten to death in this forum. It seems everyone is having the same issues I'm having. The heart rate never reads correctly. I can be completely out of breath, and measuring my HR manually at ~155 bpm, when my watch reads around 105 - 115. When I look at my watch, it sometimes shoots up dramatically by 40 bpm in a couple seconds, and then goes back down.

I've been dealing with these issues for way too long, and it's clear that Fitbit doesn't care enough to fix it. I'm also super disappointed by the buggy nature of their website as well, but that's another issue. It just seems their software is all around mediocre.

So this brings me to my question: What is a good alternative to Fitbit? Apple Watch? Samsung Watch? Something else entirely? I know there are lots of good wearables out there, from companies that haven't gotten complacent like Fitbit has, and actually still care about the experience their customers have.

So are there any great suggestions that others have had a positive experience with? Specifically around HR monitors?
