Battery Drain on brand new sense

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello, I just got me sense a few days ago. I fully charged it once and today it’s suddenly dropped to 15% charge. It says it should last 6 days. It’s only made it a day and a half. I don’t see an always on setting and not sure what else could be doing it. Before I charged it fully it arrived partially charged and went for a few days on that partial charge. This time it hasn’t.

Hi, @Zyante please swipe left on your Sense until you come to the settings menu.  There you will find display options which could affect battery life: brightness, always on, and screen timeout.

On the settings menu you will also see the option to shut down.  It is a good idea also to shut it down and then restart (hold the button) as this can shut down any background activities that could be affecting your battery life.  You will not lose any data doing this.

I’ll have to check. I plugged it in to charge and it’s just gotten lower and isn’t charging. I’m missing my ionic now.

Please do check your settings as mentioned above.

If the display is set to normal,  “always on” is turned off and display timeout is set to 10 secs, and especially if a brand new Sense battery is draining while it is actually plugged in to charge (!) , and you have confirmed that it is connected to a charging plug known to be working, then it is probably time to get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on Contact.Fitbit.com

Keep us posted!

I checked and the always on wasn’t. I have it set to when I flip my wrist. I re-plugged it in and switched the power block to see if that helped and it’s charging now. It’s at 89% my phone itself has a bad battery and I wonder if that could bother my Fitbit. Unsure

Your phone’s battery should not affect it.  Have you checked whether the display timeout is set to 10 secs - a longer time will affect battery life, as will setting the display brightness to max (although the bright setting should have only minimal impact).

If it is charging properly now, I would suggest monitoring it for a few days and seeing how it goes.
