Battery draining fast after recent upgrade to 128.5.49

The charge is draining within two days after the recent upgrade a week back. I am using the Fitbit app on IOS and currently turned the Bluetooth “ off” on my phone to stop  the drain. This is a new watch purchased in May, 2021 and prior to the upgrade, the charge was lasting anywhere between 5 to 6 days, depending upon my usage. I see the same issue on Versa 3 purchased for my family member at the same time period.

I notice that the “sense” is always connected to Bluetooth on my iPhone and I do not have any option to disconnect it.Prior to the upgrade, the watch was synching only when I opened the app and it was not connected “always”. Is there any workaround other than turning the Bluetooth off?

No other option that I can see..other than turning off 'always sync' and other things.. Just turn on bluetooth when you want to sync...

That is not a good workaround, as it affects other devices. Is there any fix forecast for this issue?

There's an app update for iOS, you'll have to "force" the update. The most current version is 3.46. This just might help the battery drain issues you're experiencing. I've always have my Sense connected to bluetooth and this doesn't drain the battery from my normal usage experience. I'm getting 3-5 days battery depending whether I use the GPS for my runs in the morning or not. Of course, after the update, restart your watch for good measure.

There shouldn't be any workarounds on behalf of the end user, the system should just work.

Thanks for your help. I had 3.45 and force updated to 3.46.Let me wait and see, how it goes. Most likely, I believe this should fix the issue, as I can “force”quit the “sense” from Bluetooth pairing individually now .Earlier with 3.45 version, I could n’t do that and I had to turnoff the Bluetooth completely.

Thank you for posting your query as my Sense

only lasts 2 days as well - mine only being a recent purchase (moved on from a Garmin) and starting to regret it . I’ll upgrade mine as well, but can you please provide an update ?

Hi,

Following the upgrade, both Sense and Versa3 are holding up well. So, upgrade to 3.46 might fix your issue hopefully 🙂🙂

Good update after upgrading the app. Never had any issues with battery life throughout the app and/or firmware updates on my Sense. Crossing fingers that this holds up, unless I just jinxed myself. LOL.
