Brought sense into the shower and now the HR monitor is off by ~20bpm

Hi, I have never taken my sense into the shower because I was nervous even though it is supposed to be rated for 50m. I just took it into the shower for the first time yesterday and since then it has been reading my hr about 15-20bpm lower than it is (compared to a medical grade pulse ox that it is normally fairly reliable to within 2-3bpm). What can I do to fix it? Shouldn't it have been fine? I don't understand what went wrong with it.

I rely on the HR monitor daily because I am undergoing testing and diagnosis for dysautonomia/POTS and I need it to be accurate. I realized that I was feeling worse than I should be at the heart rate it was reading so I double checked it and was surprised at how far off it was. Showers have been a struggle with my hr spiking so I trusted the 50m water resistant label and brought it in to verify my hr but now I am afraid I may have damaged a device that is honestly probably my most important device at the moment.

Please tell me there is something I can do to fix it. I already tried charging it, restarting it, ensuring it was completely dry, and ensuring the back monitor was clean.

Let her dry out some more and see if it gets better.

I have a family member with pots and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.  I understand how the BP spikes when you stand up. Crazy and scarey.  If your watch does not improve and you are within the warranty I would seek a replacement from customer support.

Hi @_MH_  -  it is unlikely that the showering has anything to do with the heart rate reading [although anything is possible].

What is more likely is you are noticing incorrect heart rate readings which if you look in the forums is a known issue.

The only time you can count on your heart rate to be really accurate is at rest because it is medically certified, necessary for the ECG readings.
