Buying advice Fitbit Sense - Health Metrics dashboard free release - October update date

Hi all,

I've been a long time Fitbit user and so far quite happy with the products I've used over the many years. Currently looking into the Fitbit Sense as my next tracker, but doing research I've discovered many data that is being tracked is being stored behind the premium subscription.

However I've stumbled across this review from DC Rainmaker and in it, he states that the Health Metrics dashboard will be released for free and will no longer be part of the premium subscription. Is anyone from Fitbit here who can verify this claim?

Also is it known when this update and the update for the ECG is planned to be released in October?

Many thanks in advance for any insights that can be given

This is my first smartwatch/band of any kind, and since I was mainly looking for a health tracker and not a fitness tracker I'm mostly happy with the purchase. The data with a basic subscription is good enough and what's locked behind premium might be better, but I don't believe it significantly adds to the value. I do think they should make the health data part of basic, as it is critical data dealing with personal well being, but I'm ok for now with what's available in basic.

More annoying is the fact that to get Spo2 readings, you have to switch to a specific clock face every night to get the data to record. A really dumb implementation, but a feature request has already been submitted to change this.

As for ECG, well, you've got perfect timing as it just released in the US today!! Works well too. Simple reading from the watch, and then results are posted in the Assessments section of the mobile app. And, the ECG data is available in basic with the ability to export to PDF for sharing with your Doctor. 🙂
