I just installed the app onto my phone and synched the setting, however the tracker is already telling me I have burned 2,047 calories. Why would it show this considering I have not worn my Fitbit Sense yet?

As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing includes the total BMR calories burned since midnight.

Having said that, it sounds like quite a lot so it might be worth checking your settings for age, height and weight as these directly affect the calculations.
