@Sbg6 Fitbit uses your stats (gender, age, height, weight) to estimate your Base Metabolic Rate (BMR) which is those calories you burn just to stay alive. Even if you don't wear the unit the algorithm continues to estimate your BMR. I don't know when you checked but 450 calories for 6-8 hours is not too far off (mine is about 60 calories per hour). The BMR estimate continues running even if you turn the unit off. At this time there is no way to disable that count. You can check the accuracy of the BMR by searching the web for a variety of BMR calculators.
