Can I schedule to turn my Sense screen dim at night?

When I go to bed, I sometime twist and turn, and when I do, my Fitbit Sense triggers its raise-to-wake function and wakes the display, blinding me.

There needs to be a setting for it not to do this during adjustable times, say 11PM to 7AM. If I want to wake the display during these times, I'd have to physically press the wake button.

Either that, or fine-tune the raise to wake feature to better detect whether I'm lying down vs standing, and react accordingly.

Ah brilliant. Should have read the manual.

Thanks!

It does amaze me how many people buy a piece of tech and then don't bother to read the manual about how it works.

No harm done. Just a feature that I missed.

I don't like this.  With my Versa 1, I was able to get notifications and not get blinded at the same time.  I haven't seen any comparable setting on the Sense (which should be way more advanced).  I've contacted chat support to see what's going on about this one.

Update: Sure enough, they trashed this apparently and I was referred to post it on the 'Features Suggestions' page.  Why would you get rid of something almost every Smartphone has?  I'll be looking to see if other wearable trackers still have this super common sense feature.

Hi there, @NoreLineas.

Thanks for the details provided, as well as taking the time to get in touch with our Support team. I understand where you're coming from about having the screen turned on at night and I'm sorry for this inconvenience. If you'd like your Sense to turn the screen to dim automatically, may I know if you've tried changing the brightness level? To do this, swipe right from the clock face on your watch to access the quick settings, tap on the sun icon and adjust the screen brightness. This setting won't interfere with your notifications and the screen will still turn on when moving your wrist.

Hello @LizzyFitbit,

Yes, I have tried this setting but then it’s dim all the time and hard to see in the daylight so it’s worthless to me.  It doesn’t auto sense light anymore WITH notifications so I get woken up by emergency personal calls and work stuff.  I have to have those on so right now I am choosing to be blinded at night, and also waking up my partner by waving around a light bright enough I can see the whole room. Charming thing to get rid of. Doesn’t make any sense to me why they did.

Hi @NoreLineas. It's good to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for your feedback and your efforts while adjusting the brightness level on your own. I see your point about not having the Auto setting on your Sense and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. I noticed you've shared this idea in the Feature Suggestions board. Every feedback shared in the forums is always taken into consideration to improve our products and make Fitbit useful for you, so rest assured your comments won't be the exception.

I too have found this to be an annoyance. Hoping they update the software to allow either scheduling the ability to dim or scheduling “raise to wake”. In the meantime, while not at all optimal, I have found a relatively easy work around which is to turn off the “raise to wake” feature by swiping right on the display and clicking the bottom middle icon (watch icon with three little lines coming out of the side). This turns off “raise to wake” (setting it to manual). Then at some point the next morning I turn it back (“automatic”).. Again, not optimal but has been a pretty easy work around for me. Just thought I’d share.

HI @CloughVA - thanks for sharing. Note if you use the best answer to this topic [scheduling Sleep mode] it would avoid any manual intervention.

This suggestion was for those who still want to receive notifications (emergencies, work needs, etc) but are getting woken up by the light when they have “raise to wake” set and move at night.

@CloughVA - sleep schedule makes watch dim And disables wrist wake and notification alerts.

Is that not what you want?
