Can I turn off the Sense Bluetooth completely?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Is there a way to turn off the Bluetooth completely? Like how the iconic had "on, off, pair." For my job, it's required to have the ability to turn it off completely or I won't be allowed to bring it to work and I'll have to return it due to that feature. If it is not available at this time, can it be updated to do so soon? Thank you for your time.

Jay

NO. fitbit does NOT allow users to turn off the bluetooth. Its on 24/7, 365 days. So they can keep the tracker "available" for all the features, apps etc. (read as more business opportunities for fitbit!).

Any wireless device emits RADIATION, which may or may not be harmful for humans health. Bluetooth is certainly a radiation, though low power and short ranged. Customers should absolutely have the choice, option to TURN OFF bluetooth if they want to. But incase of fitbit... business (read as $'s) takes precedence.

Hope fitbit admins read the customer comments on unhappiness with lack of the option to turn off bluetooth on trackers. it would be a great move by fitbit and will help to expand their customer base (with people who may be little cautious about wireless radiations or just sensitive to radiations or those who want to minimize their daily EMF exposure)

Hi @BigJake1775 @forthewatch - @Satz7  is correct, no current Fitbits have the option to turn off Bluetooth which means it can't normally be used in secure facilities or to please people who want it off.

The rationale may be that having the option to turn it off would increase the number of people forgetting to turn it 8in and reporting syncing problems.

It is a very lower power transmission and used sparingly to make the tiny battery last. On that basis @BigJake1775 ask for permission to use it.
