Can pickleball be added to Exercise app on Sense?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've enjoyed the Sense since I got it in February.  I started playing pickleball also around that time and use the 'tennis' choice but today I though to throw this idea on the board and maybe it can be brought to the attention of those that can do this?  Pickleball hands down is the fastest largest growing sport around the world!!!  I really love the swimming feature as I entered a sprint triathlon for April and I can really see my swimming info as I am doing it in real time....thanks Fitbit!

@PatPasquale   You can continue to use the Tennis shortcut.  You can use the Workout shortcut and change the name to pickleball using the Categorize Exercise option in the Exercise Details of the app.  Fitbit has no plans to add pickleball as its own exercise shortcut.

That Feature Suggestion is marked Not Currently Planned and has been that way since 2018.  Not hopeful at all.

thanks for reply.  Someone sent me the link that this was requested 4 years ago.. How sad in all the time, they never added it.   I am sorry, w all the engineers, it CAN NOT be that difficult to add it.  its not like so few people would use it.

I'll keep using the 'tennis' choice...but I think is bs they could meet this request.

That is true, some requests.have gotten 30+ seperate requests when merged 1500 votes in a month. This one having 103 over 5 years is not very active.

Agree! Pickleball is the fastest growing sport. Now that GOOGLE owns Fitbit, it's UNBELIEVABLE that Pickleball has not been added to the list of activities to the Sense. Or maybe it IS believable! Apple has already added it to their health app and Apple watch.

As was pointed out, 103 votes in over 5 years. Why would Fitbit be motivated to add it?

@TommyIzzo this is very low-hanging fruit from the development point of view. A small thing that can make some users happier regardless number of votes. Fitbit always says the platform supports 20+ (and '+' stands for +1/+2) types of exercises which in 2022 is an incredibly poor selection. Look at the rowing exercise. Rowing is a great example that votes don't really matter. See below:

2715 votes over 6 years and still "not currently planned".

I appreciate your comments, thanks.. .do people know their is a vote? I never thought to ask this question, then I figured it cant hurt. 5yrs ago and then today is totally different, especially in the 'active' world and pickleball is a huge example of that.     Has fitbit sent out a questionnaire to its members that could have many other options that are not available now? I bet most people unless they have a problem do not even come to these community boards.

thanks for your input

Yes @PatPasquale it is called the feature request board, and linked to above. However no one seems to be voting for this suggestion.

In the next 3 months, get a 1000 of your friends to add their votes-and pickleball may be added.

Until then i suggest tennis.
