Can’t find phone message on some Sense apps

This has been confusing me for a while. On some of the screens in my Fitbit (even different types of data in the Today app) it’ll show the “Open” button to open the app, and on others it’ll show the “Can’t Find Phone” message. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why some screens show the phone as connected and others show it as unavailable at different times. Anyone else?

Hi @sockatume. It's good to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. As you may know, some apps installed on the Sense require a regular syncing so the data can be updated. Because you mentioned this happens at different times, due to different factors your watch might not always have a stable connection with your phone's Bluetooth. That being said, I'd recommend to allow the Fitbit app to run in the background and leave the Bluetooth enabled so your watch can sync and stay connected with the Fitbit app and show your details correctly when opening an app.

See you around.

Thanks, the connection seems to be fine most of the time for most of the apps. But Sleep, for example, wasn’t up to date today at 8pm even though other app seemed to have synced in the past ten minutes.

Hi @sockatume. I hope you're doing well.

Thanks for getting back with more details. May I know the model and OS/version of your phone? Have you made sure to have the Fitbit app updated? While you have checked the information posted above, please double check the requirements described in this help article and let me know what other stats have this issue aside of your sleep data.

I have the same problem. Sync works in general, but I almost always have that "cannot find phone" message on the watch apps.

Hi @Abo2. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for the information provided and to look into this, may I know the model and OS/software version of your phone? In the meantime, I'd recommend to give a try to the following steps:

  1. Remove the Sense from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn off the Bluetooth from any other device nearby.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  4. Restart your Sense.
  5. Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.

Leave the Fitbit app running in the background with the Bluetooth enabled and try accessing to your watch apps.

I tried that. Still does not work most of the time.

Why is the answer to anything that goes wrong with this app/device always "restart your sense, etc"?  Every single morning, I have sync issues with my phone.  Everything is up to date on my Pixel 3a - the OS, everything - as well as on my Sense which was just purchased last week.  I feel like all of these "solutions" are not really solutions.  Our issues are falling on deaf ears of the developers.
