Connecting for phone calls

I have attempted to connect with the sense controls to use the phone feature. After repeated attempts, including restarting the sense it does but connect. I have a pixel 5 phone, Bluetooth is on. When i send a test call i receive it. I receive calls but cannot talk after accepting the call just accept or decline
