Data not Cleared. Sync & Try again

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

A few days ago all of the text disappeared on the watch. ie, The settings gear icon was there, but the word "settings" was not. It was like this for all menu items.

Incoming notifications would just scroll a black screen

The keypad to unlock would not show the numbers, but if you pushed where the 5 would normally be, the watch recognized that you pushed a 5.

Did a restart, that did not fix it

Did a factory reset. Now the watch just displays a red X with "Data not cleared Sync & try again"

went into app, clicked the re-sync button, app showed "Fitbit could not sync your data. Try again"

The watch IS showing in my Connected Devices in my Bluetooth menu on the phone

Any suggestions to get this thing working again?

@joeslowy , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and efforts.

Make sure no other Bluetooth devices are connected to the phone or nearby (headphones, keyboards, etc.).

Please follow these steps; you may have already done some, but the order is important:

  • Restart your Sense
  • On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and remove all connections to the watch. (Forget, ignore, or unpair device depending on the phone's operating system version.)
  • Turn Bluetooth off and then restart your phone.
  • When your phone is back on, turn Bluetooth back on, but DO NOT attempt to connect to the Sense from there.
  • Go to the app. From there, try setting up the watch as a new device.

Thanks @JuanFitbit ,

I logged my steps below. Seems like its in a boot loop now. The phone still says "Updating your Sense", but it's been about 10 minutes of re-boots

Steps:

Started at 2:25
Held side button
screen turned off
fitbit logo appeared and made the boot up sound
Red x still showed
went into fphone BT settings, clicked fitbit, click forget, confirmed forget
turned phone BT off
Restarted phone
Phone re-booted
got a pop up that said 'Fitbit Sense Tap to setup this device', clicked 'Close
turned on BT
opend FB app, watch still showed
clicked 'add new device'
pop up said "Another Sense is connected o his account, Replacing will disconnect the current Sense. Unsynced data may be lost. when you disconnect your device, the Fitbit app will no longer receive new data from your device. Existing Data in the fitbit app won't be affected"
clicked "Replace"
next screen said 'connect Sense to the Fitbit app?'
clicked Agree
Screen: Charge during setup", clicked continue
Screen: Searching for your sense
Watch rebooted after about 2-3 minutes, then displayed the Red X
watch showed 4 digit number, phone asked for number
pairing request notification from phone appeared, let it alone
phone said "could not pair"
Red X is now a red horizontal line
watch rebooted again
Red X appeared
Could not pair showed on phone
turned BT off and on again
pair notification appeared on phone, clicked 'pair'
connected watch to WiFi
screen: Updated your sense, clicked Update (battery at 98%)
Screen: Updating your Sense, Watch rebooted 6x
Screen: Couldn't Update. Something went wrong. try updating your device again
clicked 'Try again'
Screen: Updating your Sense, Watch rebooted 3x
Red X 'data not cleared showed on watch',
screen still showing 'updating your Sense,
Watch rebooted, Red X showed on watch
Watch rebooted, Red X showed on watch, screen went black
watch rebooted 2x, Red X showed on watch, screen went black
watch rebooted 3x, Red X showed on watch, screen went black
watch rebooted 1x, Red X showed on watch
watch rebooted 3x, Red X showed on watch, but the animation for it froze, so it looked like >< instead of an X
watch rebooted, Red X showed, but animation froze, so it was just a horizontal line
watch rebooted 2x, Red X showed on watch, but the animation for it froze, so it looked like >< instead of an X
watch rebooted 2x
It's now 2:40, i stopped logging what it was doing and replied to this thread
