Dead Sense/Frustrated by Fitbit

My Sense is out of warranty by a month and is stuck on the Fitbit logo screen.
Apparently there is no way to shut it down or fix it. Customer support's only solution is to offer a 30% discount. Are they kidding?! 
If anyone else is having this problem and has a solution, I'd be happy to try.

I suppose you have tried the obvious, pressing the left "button" for ten seconds?

Hello. Yes, I have tried holding the button for 10 seconds multiple times. I also let it get down to 0% and then tried to charge it to see if it would solve the issue, but no luck.

Can't promise it hellps, but even if the device turns itself off, it doesn't mean it is non communicative with your phone. Let the battery run opuut again, and this time do not charge it until the battery icon in the app says "o".
